Christopher Gardner (Will Smith), the protagonist in the movie 'The Pursuit of Happyness', wanted to become financially successful in life so that he could provide for his son, get him good education and meet his other demands. His happiness was in financial success. Specifically, financial success by becoming a respected wall-street professional. But his true happiness was in the 'happyness' of his son. Isn't that true for most of us?

We're all living complicated lives in which we want to achieve success. For most of us - life is all about becoming financially successful - being able to provide for our loved ones and being loved and respected by them and others around us. But somewhere in the journey a lot of us forget what our end goal is, and, instead get caught in the web of life and end up doing things which push us away from what success or happiness truly means for us.

But some of us take a different path. For them financial success doesn't even count as a factor contributing to happiness. They've been successful in identifying things that give them happiness and focus their energies totally on these. For some financial success is a byproduct and they achieve fame as well, while others live and die in poverty. But even in poverty their lives are spent much happier.

Now, we wouldn't advise you to give up on financial success altogether. But while you're at it, we want you to be cognizant of what happiness truly is for you.
